So you have got it all sorted…your venue is blocked, the outfit of your dreams has come, you have booked the best makeup artist in the city . The only thing left is to start telling everyone about the wedding and deliver the first taste of your big day to their home.
  • The first thing you should do is  confirm & categorise  your guest list. After all the family fights about your dad saying that you need to invite your tuition teacher, and you mom saying that there is no need to invite the girlfriend of the brother of your distant cousin…the final guest list should be ready with you categorised into 'Type 1' (All leaflets) and 'Type 2' (only 1 leaflet)

  • You need to order your cards ATLEAST 4-6 weeks before you distribute/ mail them . This means your FINAL wordings should be with the invitationcard designer atleast 4 weeks prior- any changes you make takes you back to square one.

  • Wedding card tags: You could either go the good old way of handwriting the tags on each card, but most invitation people these days give you address tags which you can stick directly on to your invites.

  • Timing of when to send the cards: The infographic below may help

  • Once you have everything set - draw up a route plan . Group people into various areas they stay in incase you are hand delivering your card and finish one area of the city every day

  • A growing trend nowadays is to throw a small, pre-wedding bash at home where you show your pre wedding video/ shoot, kick start dance practices (Basically your choreographer fretting that ppl are just drinking!) and hand out your cards at the same time.

  • Try and cut down formality and work wherever possible- ideally the bride can tell her best friend to distribute the cards to the other friends and so on
