This Bride's NRI In-Laws Got A Beautiful Lehenga Customised For Her & We Are Floored!

Get ready for a riot of colour! Yes, we spotted a happy bride wearing a customised lehenga designed by Akanksha Gajria Label★ 4.4 , and realised that there was a cute story behind it! Yep, we got in touch with the designer to ask her more about it, and she told us everything behind the bright and happy outfits she designed for Bride Seerat on request from her new family-the Bangas! Plus, kudos to her as she only had a month to pull this off and the outfits barely had any alterations when she shipped them over to the UK! So over to Akansha as she tells us all about it!

"The Bangas were a fun bunch! They flew down from London to see me specifically for the Sangeet night which is hands down the most fun function of any Indian wedding! They wanted a high dose of colour & that's what I gave them! They had contacted me over Instagram and flew down in the first week of June to meet up. They needed 4 outfits to be designed- For mother of the groom, both sisters of the groom & for their daughter-in-law to be. They needed everything in a month, so they spent an entire day with me in my studio brainstorming. You have the results in front of you!"

"The Bangas were very specific that I design something super exclusive & never-seen-before for their gorgeous daughter-in-law-to-be. I picked colours like Aqua, tangerine, fuchsia, sunflower & lime green from each of their outfits to create a sense of familiarity & sketched a colour blocked, multi panelled lehenga choli with each panel of the lehenga compromising of varied motifs like the traditional Zardozi elephants which bring luck, delicate sequinned bootis, mirror encrusted 3D flowers, Resham thread embroidered stems to complete her look & also keeping in mind that with so much happening in the outfit, it doesn't overpower Seerat herself. The bride personally flew down for her trials, which also had zero alterations!"

"For @nikitabanga the bridesmaid, we chose our signature mirror choli along with a 4 colour blocked tie dye mirror embroidered lehenga."

"For @kanikabanga the bridesmaid, we dolled her in all our existing 9 shades of off-white tie dye to create a custom floor length anarkali."

"For Mama Banga, we picked our signature 3D floral mirror choli & a 3 splatter tie dye lehenga for her performance on Kala Chashma!"
