Red Carpet Bride with Dolly J : Sonals Bridal Shoot !

Okay, by now you would already know the first line of this post "As you are aware, every now and then we give brides to be a chance to get a makeover , be styled in designer clothing and be shot by a top candid photographer , courtesy WMG" Last month, we went to one of our favourite designer wear labels- Dolly J, and we gave a makeover to 3 girls who had entered for the Red Carpet Bride contest on WMG. Armed with makeup artist Simran Kalra & Photographer Lakshya Chawla, this shoot we  were channeling "Modern Indian Bride"- the bride who wants a traditional Indian look but with a more contemporary feel!

Meet Sonal

You may recognise her from her engagement shoot also in Dolly J, she was the lucky one who got to wear two of her favourite outfits !! She works with a german MNC and  is counting down the days to her wedding in December . And ta-da . Didn't Simran do an absolutely fab job? Classic winged eyeliner and red lips are the way to go for contemporary brides  Gorgeous !! This lehenga had a mix of zari and resham work, and is the perfect bridal lehenga for the bride who doesn't want to be weighed down on her big day.

From Sonal : My second outfit was a red lehenga , which I loved the minute I saw it. The lehenga was red with bits of floral detailing and a super cute jacket style blouse ! Somehow the twisty bun, the makeup and the outfit all came together and gave this vintage , yet contemporary vibe to the whole look which I loved.

I anyway love Dolly J clothes, infact when there was a sale announcement on Wed Me Good, I had picked up a couple of trousseau outfits from Dolly ! I was super tempted to buy both, the engagement outfit as well as this bridal outfit that I tried .

  As for the make up, Simran gave me shimmery eyes with a winged liner and deep red lips. I loved the way she planned my look – a little Victorian I say :). She happily answered all my queries and told me about a lot of make-up must haves! It was fabulous to have Lakshya behind the lens. I must say I was a little nervous posing for the pictures but what came to the rescue was the way he puts you at ease by constantly talking to you, cracking jokes! Loved all the candid shots he took, his ideas during the shoot – highly recommend his work.  Above all he is just a pleasure to be around
