Red carpet bride at Jade by Monica & Karishma: Salmon Extravaganza!

Salmon pink goodness - can it ever get more glamorous than that? Add a bit of silver embroidery and a sheer dupatta and you're a princess in the making. This sweet lehenga was sitting quietly in a corner at the famous Jade store on Peddar Road and everyone hoo-haw-ed over it as it lay draped up on a rather sombre mannequin. Initially, Sonika chose a rather dark pink lehenga at first and she was struggling to drape the heavy dupatta on her - and while the lehenga was exquisite, it was struggling to stay on. But then, bam, this salmon sweet number happened and we were all in glee. Sonika was sceptical at first, but as the drapes gathered around her and made her skin glow, she smiled away. The pink really brightened her look and made her look delicate - that's why they say, there is a lehenga for everyone.

The WMG and Jade team were so warm and friendly, within 5 mins, they made us feel at home. We strolled around the store and chose our favourite pieces. I did not come with a fixed colour choice and thus had a lot of options open to myself. After trying a couple of lehengas, I finally opted for this pastel beauty. Subtle, classy and rich - this lehenga was just made for me. The best thing I liked about it was the fact that despite the fact that it is super embellished, it wasn't heavy in weight. I walked with ease!
Heema, the makeup artist suggested we go for smokey eyes and I instantly agreed to her idea. She was amazing with her job. The Jade girls made us so comfortable and thus made the shoot very very easy for us. The Wedding Salad team were patient and very passionate, and even though we girls were getting tired by the end of it, they kept at it clicking away enthusiastically.
The best part about the experience was that I not only got a chance to be completely dressed up as a bride for a day but got so much clarity as to what suits me what doesn't. Now I exactly know what works for me.
