Oh how we love evening weddings and this one tops our list this week with a chic one at The Westin, Pune. The dreamy wedding of Vriti and Aayush was timeless for many reasons - the sweet Mehendi designs, the glam outdoor mandap and of course, the gorgeous outfits. Photography by Aviraj Saluja was beautiful and memorable and we absolutely loved the portrait shots. Cute! *The peach lehenga!!!
Meet Vriti & Aayush
"Ours was an arranged marriage. We met through a broker which was arranged by our families. Maybe it was the pressure of meeting under their scanner or the fact that I wasn't mentally prepared for marriage, things just didn't click the first time, even though it was nice meeting him. So I let it go, but what I didn't know was that our families remained in touch. I was in Pune and he was in Singapore, so we reconnected after about 8 months, this time without telling our parents and we instantly clicked. He came down to India and we met for a week. He then popped the question in the most unexpected manner, and what I didn't know was that my friends were in the loop as well! It was a small proposal, I of course said "Yes", but everyone got to know within 10 mins! We had a courtship of about 6 months after that where we became very comfortable with each other, and I now realise that the medium of how you meet your partner does not matter at all!" explains Vriti. The Sangeet & Cocktails
The Wedding
From The Bride-to-be: We both didn't plan anything! When the planning process started, I was fighting a lot with my parents, so after a while I decided to stay out of it and let the parents plan it their way! So our families planned everything and the only condition we had for them was that they should also have fun at the wedding! Since I'm the youngest in my family, everyone had a lot of experience with planning weddings, and we had a lot of vendors we were comfortable with as my brother just got married 5 years ago. I throughly enjoyed my wedding, and didn't realise how the 3 days went by!" says Vriti.
