Glamour is an essential part if every wedding, some keep it subtle, some go all out to celebrate it. Ruchika and Deepanshu's wedding falls in the latter category with a larger than life affair. We absolutely loved the adorable bridal entry specially when we heard the story behind it and the leheriya turbans on the brides family, with photography by Click My Dreams .
Meet Ruchika & Deepanshu
"We have been friends since university days in UK. As simple as that sounds - it was his love for me which finally made me fall in love with him. He's my best friend not just my husband" explains Ruchika. The Cocktails
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"My Mehendi was a night of dolki, dance and drinks, the theme was everything organic. We used paper flowers (backdrop), wood log (for centre piece), and a lounge made with greens & bamboo. We kept a special high tea snacks as it was a sundowner event. I had organized a jaggo wala which is a Punjabi tradition for my mom. For the cocktails, we decided on a peach and black theme with a modern English look. So, we had a customized drink menu on each table. It was a fun event for everyone, it turned out be a youngster party as everyone including our loving oldies enjoyed it to the core. The best part of the cocktail was a surprise dance performance by Deepanshu. We wanted everyone to take something special with them, so we kept a Polaroid Camera photographer, who captured the moment and it's well-preserved in everyone wallet. For the wedding, I had envisioned my wedding in all white and blue, with beautiful decor and other elements like ice sculptures (especially the ice shot glasses were a big hit)" explains Ruchika.
"For my wedding, I wanted a lehenga with birds on it and after exploring found a beautiful Rohit Bal design. I made an entry on a bike, "Jai Veru" style. So the story behind this bike: I left my grandparents house in this very same bike 30 years back with my parents (though I don't remember it clearly as I was 2 months old). Now as I was leaving my home and going to the new home, I wanted it to be special for me and my dad and everyone else. The bike has been lucky for us!! So the bike went to the vintage store in Delhi and before the wedding, was all decked up the way I wanted. I loved that my relatives did the flashmob on London Thumak da while I entered" adds Ruchika.
