From The Bride:
"We had a traditional South Indian Muslim wedding which spanned over two days with a pre-wedding 'Mehendi' function and a Nikah on the wedding day. However, ironically the Mehendi function did not really involve any mehendi as I absolutely am not a fan of the same. I'm pretty sure I might be the first Muslim bride to get married without henna involved! And South Indian weddings are usually all about the gold, but keeping with the minimalistic theme we had in mind, we kept that to a minimum too," explains Shaziya. "With family and friends all flying in from everywhere, the pre-wedding function was more about my huge family finally being together in the same place. The wedding in keeping with Islamic traditions had a separate stage for the bride before the Nikah. Once the nikah was done, we were brought together to the same stage. Most of my wedding shopping was done from Mumbai itself including Sabyasachi and Shyamal and Bhumika outfits. The decor was more of a dim lit floral and crystals theme to compliment the outfits," adds Shaziya.
