Elegant Decorator-Approved Table Settings For The Classy Indian Bride!

BY The WMG Bride | 10 Dec, 2015 | 3 min read

First of all, let us just say that "sit down" dinners are our most favourite. Not only because you get some time to chill in between the mad dancing and actually converse with somebody , but also because we're also suckers for good and elegant table settings - ones that are painstakingly put together for Instagram ( heehee, picture-worthy is good, isn't it?). So we thought a few rules might just work with 10 of our favourite table settings from WMG weddings - the ones which are so elegant they give Charlotte York a complex!
  1. Thou shalt add a lot of candlebras into the mix

Candles, chandeliers and a New-York-y setting, this one will always be a winner because it's so so elegant and grand!

2. Thou shalt add a bit of colour with your tealights

A bold colour adds a bit of punch to the table so make sure your tealight holders are bright-coloured!

3. Thou shalt add a mirror table for a punchy look

The mirror tables really add a bit of modernity to the otherwise traditional tables - plus, it's a great way to make all your decor look more grand!

4. Thou shalt add potted plants to make it look a bit rustic

A little ribbon and a few ferns can literally give a very Parisian feel to the whole shebang. Potted plants also add to the charm!

5. Thou shalt place flowers in between the napkins

Adding a few flowers to the napkins artfully can take a drab table to a better place in minutes!

6. Thou shalt pull out vintage cutlery

Beautiful vintage cutlery is every bride's dream. Good china makes up for everything - so choose the one that really makes an impact. Flower and rose bud designs are always welcome.

7. Thou shalt bring in brass candlesticks

Brass candlesticks can always make it look like an old-school intimate party - so keep it simple. Buy them at a vintage store or a flea market and just pop in your favourite candle.

8. Thou shalt still stay elegant even if you choose a bright hue

Not everything elegant needs to be dressed in white - so if you choose a bright colour, then make sure the accessories like glasses, plates and candles are super elegant.

9. Thou shalt add a dark table cloth

It's not always pastel hues that can make a table setting elegant - the dark tablecloth and candle combo can really make it look dark, mysterious and absolutely decadent.

10. Thou shalt bring in those gold plates

Gold plates are just the thing you need to add a certain kind of charm to the setting. Bling, but subtle!!!
