Elegant Bengaluru Wedding In Muted Gold!

BY The WMG Bride | 10 Feb, 2016 | 3 min read

You know you've hit the right spot when the bride takes help from all her family members and friends to create the wedding of her dreams. Reshma and  Promod did not want a big huge wedding - what with her being Christian and he being Hindu. So, they decided to tie the knot at the Sub-Registrar's Office in Bangalore flanked by their closest friends and family, all of 15 people. Then, they threw a small reception with all these cute DIY details and simple burlap ideas to showcase their love. When the bride's lehenga is designed by her sister and the video invite by her cousin (and oh, a cousin pitched in for desserts!) then you know, this is one wedding to look out for. And this minimalistic celebration of love was captured perfectly by Nikhil Shastri★ 5 .

From The Bride:

"Both of us were very certain that we wanted something intimate. I'm a Christian and Pramod a Hindu and we didn't want to go down the path of religious ceremonies. We had a court wedding at the Registrar's office which was attended by just close family and a reception the next evening for about 200 of our close family and friends. The best thing about our wedding was that we had friends and family very involved- my cousin did our wedding invite, my elder sister did our pre-wedding shoot, my younger sister designed my lehenga, our friend shot the wedding, my friends made delicious chocolate cake pops (wedding favours for the guests), so it felt like a very inclusive and private affair," explains Reshma.  "As far as decor was concerned, we had seen Nilma's work prior to our wedding. The best thing we loved about her decor was that it is minimalistic and elegant. Since we had a colour theme of black, white or gold for our guests, Nilma used white and burlap as the theme for decor and a lot of yellow lights. We had a tiered photo-booth, a Polaroid photo-booth, little ladders, candles, flowers, crates, chalkboard signages - all of which fit very well with the theme. For the court wedding, I wore  a traditional Kerala saree. For the reception, my sister Roshini Thomas designed an off-White and gold crop top lehenga for me from her label 6 Yards. My makeup artist, Poornima is my junior from grad school and has done her certification in Hair & Makeup from the London School of Makeup and helped a great deal in achieving the natural look I wanted for the reception. The invites were done beautifully by my cousin who took our pre-wedding shoot pictures and made it into a one-minute video invite," adds Reshma.
