Dreamy Chandigarh Anand Karaj With A Dash Of Elegance!

BY Latha Sunadh | 25 Sep, 2018 | 1 view | 5 min read

It's so nice when real proposals are dreamier than Bollywood movies, right? You must then read Amaneet's sweet love story below and you'll really have a smile plastered on your face the whole day. And not just the love story, the wedding too is as pretty as a picture - from pastel pink drapes to dried flower decor - there's just so much to taken in from this soiree. The bride's pink lehenga with a scallop border dupatta is totally cool, right? While the venues, Aura Veesala and Apple Resorts, Zirakpur alongside Royal Banquets, Mohali kept the look clean, simple and sweet, it's the photographers Harleen Deol Photography★ 5  & Roshan Studio who made the entire pictures pop!

Meet Inayat & Amaneet

"We met in college and we have known each other for over 8 years. We had been friends since 2009, and were living in separate countries since 2015. But January 2016 was when everything changed. It was in Goa of all the other places in the world and at Inayat cousin’s wedding.

Inayat was supposed to leave for England right after the Goa trip to complete her masters and I was supposed to head back to Chandigarh for a friend’s wedding and then eventually back to Canada. We never knew that those four days together in Goa will shape our future lives. All the while we were there, we just couldn’t stand to be separated from each other, we just wanted to be together and for the trip to never end.

So, the night before the wedding, I stole her away from the hustle and bustle of the celebrations saying that I wasn’t feeling good. My initial plan was to take her to the beach but I just couldn’t hold it inside me for so long. Just standing by the pool, I pulled her close and we kissed and in that moment, everything else just faded away. I followed it by getting on my knees and I proposed. She still often jokes about the way I said it, “Let’s get married, we have to get married! Just say yes I will take care of all the arrangements and we shall just get married tomorrow right after your sister’s wedding”.

She was stunned, it was as if a lightning bolt had hit her. That didn’t hamper her wit one bit and she was like "let’s see if you remember all this in the morning" and walked away smiling. Maybe I had one too many drinks and was just blabbering anything under the influence, she thought. That night was probably the longest one of my life the next morning I didn’t know what to do and how to react, and she could clearly see that. So eventually, after avoiding me through the entire ceremony, she walked up to me and said "isn’t it our turn now?" And gave me her kaleera and asked me to keep to keep it safe as husbands aren’t supposed to ever lose it. That night we spent under the stars just talking and planning how and when will we tell everybody, and how will our parents react and just like that our wedding preparations had already begun in our minds," says Amaneet.

The Sangeet

The Wedding

From The Groom:

If you get a chance, listen to the song "viah nu diwali aa by amar sandhu", our wedding was exactly the same, it was kind of our "wedding anthem". Ours was a dreamy wedding - a 7-day-long wedding, just as it used to be in the old times where sikh weddings would go on for 7 to 10 days Performing all the traditions and ceremonies. our friends called it "big fat punjabi wedding", but for us it was a festival, not just the wedding. The wedding had already started a month before the "big day", as once everyone was together, every night and day, we had dolki, drinks and dance.

Our vendors were amazing. Rehat Brar, my MUA made me look beautiful inside out. There are very few make up artists who will talk to you, know you, understand your likes and dislikes and give you the best and she was one of them. Harleen Deol, was our wedding photographer. If you want to re-live those beautiful moments at your wedding again and again -  she's the one you should call.

Our decor by Chandni Tent House was great. Don't go by the name, their work is outstanding. And Golden Caterers were so good, their service is as per your expectations and food quality is top notch. New Style Tailors by Tittu Naggrawal were one of the finest craftsman in the field hidden in one of the most unexpected corners of sector 17 Chandigarh. He was the tailoring for the groom and 20 other members in the family and friends, still he made sure to deliver the clothings on time, even though some of them were ordered 4 days prior to the functions. If by quality service, you mean coming at your doorstep at 6 am, just to make sure everything is fits well, he's definitely your guy. And Royale Banquet's decor and service was just the best. What we really loved about our vendors was the fact that most of these were hidden gems, you won't find them on social media but they are so much better than brands with many followers, they really aimed at quality.
