Colorful, gala of a wedding in Vadodara

Pink..blue...yellow ..orange....we are counting the number of vibrant colors captured in these photographs by Pooja Joseph . Aashka and Sanket's gujju wedding is a fun, carnival of sorts with a self created logo (two thumbprints to form a heart), live bangle makers, caricature artists, instant photo printing, advice booths , topped of with a super smiley bride and a sangeet lehenga we absolutely adore .

Meet Aashka and Sanket

While their story goes back to when they were little kids, and saw each other frequently through gatherings of common friends, it was only during their college years did the relationship move forward. "In 2014, 3 years after we were dating he gave me a grand proposal at the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur". The rest as they say is history.

Wedding

From the bride:  Both, Sanket & I always wanted a small wedding with close friends and family but our wedding turned out to be one big ‘mela’ which  when we think about it now, gives us great satisfaction.  The theme for the wedding was 'Marigold' and we tried to incorporate this in each detail

Sanket came up with a brilliant idea for our save the date cards. We took our thumb prints and merged them together to form a heart. All our friends and family loved it so much that we decided to use this finger print heart as our logo. To complement our save the date card, we attached a keychain with the December month calendar engraved on one side with a heart placed over our wedding date (Dec 6 2014). We personalised all the gifts and give- aways for the three days..from the tags on the mehndi baskets to the photo mugs..from the gift bags to the silver coins for our family members, from pens in the hotel rooms to valet parking ticket tags, from the handkerchief in the mehndi basket to the water bottles, all had our finger print heart logo on it.

Ever since I saw the movie ‘Band Baaja Baraat’, I had dreamt of having that exact colourful entrance for my own wedding. When Kabir decorators said that they could do it for our Mehndi & Sangeet function, we were ecstatic. The décor was a riot of bright colours complimenting the festivities. We had some fun stuff to entertain our guests like a photo booth, a waffle stand, a lakh bangle stand, on the spot personalised photo mugs and sketches by artists.
