Clever Ways Of Using White In Your Wedding Without Making It Look Like A Whitewash!

BY Apoorva | 11 Jun, 2019 | 3 min read

White is quite an unconventional colour, when it comes to Indian weddings. But it’s lovely too and quite perfect for summer weddings. So how do you incorporate this lovely hue into your celebrations without it looking like you just painted your wedding white? The most important thing to remember while using white is – don’t overdo it. Don’t go all white on everything that you see. Pick a few elements that you like and then opt for the colour. Use it like a statement colour, instead of a generic hue.

Bridal Outfit

White lehengas are trending and how! We saw a number of brides in 2018 and 2019 too sport beautiful white and ivory lehengas as well as sarees for their weddings. Not only does it look royal but it’s so different from the usual reds and pinks!

White looks spectacular on grooms! Most grooms want to opt for lighter colours for day events, so a white sherwani or even a silk kurta does wonders. You can also opt for a poppy pink safa like this groom did!

Love pearls? Or seashells? Take a page out of this bride’s look who wore stunning white jewellery with kaleeras that had sea shells for a beach wedding. What is not to love?

Themes

Have your guests wear white! Go ahead with an all-white theme, so that all you need to do is, wait for your guests to turn up in all white. While this may not work on the wedding day, it’ll work brilliantly for a cocktail party or pool party!

Décor

Include white décor pieces in your entire décor board. It can be white drapes, table linen, cushions, chair covers or maybe an entrance arch. You can even opt for white stage décor when it comes to the flooring. How about a beautiful white aisle as you walk down to the mandap?

Centrepieces

Don’t want to go for full white décor? Opt for white centrepieces that will pop against the other colours in your décor. Make sure you have larger than life centrepieces if you are looking for the white hue to be a statement.

Chairs

White chairs add an instant luxe factor to the entire event. As they are easily available and look super-Pinteresty, they will definitely be a huge hit!

So, go ahead and choose white for your wedding to give it a fresh, elegant and summery vibe.
