Beautiful Delhi Wedding With A Resourceful Bride

BY Latha Sunadh | 05 Oct, 2016 | 4 min read

We love a resourceful bride - and this bride definitely knows her style and how to achieve it in this pretty Delhi wedding.  Choosing to get creative herself, none of her outfits were designer-made. Her Mehendi outfit was  a self designed lehenga out of her mom's old silk saree that made for a vintage look and her Cocktail Outfit was a Lucknavi chikankari lehenga self designed in old Nizam style - so lovely. Photography by The Story Weavers★ 4.9 was a delight.

Meet Aakshi & Siddharth

"Me and Siddharth (Groom) knew each other for over a decade, and dated for 6 years before getting married. Our common friend acted like a cupid and made sure we both confront our feelings to each other," says Aakshi.

From The Bride:

"Both me and Siddharth had our wedding planned in our heads for really long time, and when we finally got fixed, we were super excited to start putting our plan into action. Both of us were really involved with the minutest of the details for our big day. From fixing the wedding date to the venue, from decorations to the clothes (even of our family members), we took incharge of all of it. And with constant search, we found the best wedding crew to work with," says Aakshi. "We had sunset pheras, which I thought worked great in the Delhi winter, and save everyone from the misery of late night/early morning rituals. (also, so that we could eat, drink and dance too). We had a wedding, exactly how we planned it to be, with our guests enjoying and remembering the fun to this day, and most importantly with us enjoying the most and being super excited about starting a life together. We believed in going green, and using electronic media as a carrier for our invites. So we used www.paperlesspost.com to make our flash invites for all the days which were emailed to the guest list, and a provision to RSVP and adding a message for the bride and groom for a personal touch. It's a brilliant concept, and you can also add a map to the invite which when opened on smartphone, opens straight to google maps for directions to the venue," explains Aakshi. "Mehendi was held at the banyan tree courtyard of the venue. The decor was all pink and gold with colourful flowers, pinwheels, kaleeras, gotas for a festive vibe. The Cocktail, held at the pool side lawns of the property. The decor was Royal Blue with Gold and Marigold flowers with hookahs, and modas to add to the rustic old world charm. A  push-cart that acted as a bar, with the a chalkboard that acted like a menu-card. A Rickshaw that was decorated as a Photobooth prop near the entrance to the lawns. Also, there was a swing that was decorated as a Photobooth. Wedding was held at the main lawn along with two banquet halls of the property. The theme was vintage and thus we choose white, peach and gold with a very subtle stage, white cages with flowers, printed and bling, and crystal decors, and amber lights," adds Aakshi.
