Imran and Aslina's wedding shot by Studio A photography is full of young, sweet romance.
Meet Imran and Aslina
Aslina recounts "Imran is my elder sister's husband's younger brother . Yes, I am dating my brother-in-law's brother :D So we met when an arranged marriage was fixed for my sister with his brother 6 years ago. Slowly through all the meticulous wedding planning , we suddenly realised we were using the wedding planning as an excuse to talk to each other & as time went on, it became crystal clear that both of us have fallen for each other without us saying anything directly to one another "
The Engagement
Walima
From the bride: I was a hands-on bride if there ever was one. With lots of discussions with my sister Arifa , my friends & my mother- I took care of everything right from outfits, decor to themes and food! Our engagement decor was done entirely by us. I gave the entire design ideas and after a lot of research & help from my bridesmaids, and my sister set the whole place up in a rustic themed outdoor engagement with a pastel colour scheme. We had like a door frame at the entrance of the venue, We Put 2 tables on either side & put pics of me and Imran, a vintage sewing machine and an old 'gala petti' like a cashier's metal box . We placed a metal trunk as a 10-year anniversary time capsule that every guest filled - we will now open this box on our 10 year anniversary to relive the memories and see what our guests wrote.
For our mehendi, we had a traditional Arabian nights theme, with everything from decor to outfits in typical Arabian style.
We knew we couldn't do many details with the wedding, because the guestlist was huge & the ceremony was formal and traditional therefore, I chose a colour scheme and did decor, outfits and invites accordingly. One thing different about my wedding was, I used no flowers. I think flowers are too expensive & they take out a lump of your decoration budget. There are various other options like pearls, crystals and fabric manipulations! These decorators would have already invested in & is not a one-time buy for them, hence, it costs a lot less.
