A Super Fun Thailand Nikaah With A Bride In A Gorgeous Saree

BY Aakanksha | 01 Aug, 2019 | 3 min read

This was a super cool, super fun wedding where the couple and the guests both had a gala time! That is exactly what destination weddings are supposed to be like, right? Well Alyana and Irfan had an almost perfect destination wedding in Thailand. which was caught in great amazing detail by WhatKnot Photography★ 4.7 . Alyana wore breezy outfits at all her functions and wore a gorgeous saree on her wedding. The pastel decor was a picturesque backdrop for the subtle yet beautifully coordinated wedding outfits of Alyana and Irfan.

Meet Alyana & Irfan

Alyana and Irfan have a little unusual love story and Alyana writes it all down for us, "Irfan and I met in 2014 at my cousin's wedding. It was love at first sight for me. For him - it took some time. After about 1 year of getting to know each other, Irfan finally confessed he liked me. He made a move to Kenya after 2 years of dating to join his family business. A year after moving to Kenya, Irfan finally popped the question and another year later, we were married!"

The Haldi

The Wedding

From The Bride:

We wanted our wedding to represent what Irfan and I are like and obviously, everyone should have fun. We kept this in mind throughout planning our wedding. It was a three day long celebrations and we had all the customs and traditions.

Day 1 was Engagement and Welcome Dinner in an outdoor venue. Theme of the day was lights. We had a slogan too - "Together is the best place to be". The dress code was Indo Western and we are glad that all our guests stuck to it.

Day 2 - Pithi or Haldi. The theme was yellow and floral and the dress code was white. It was followed by Mehendi, where the dress code was white and Bandana and the slogan was "Ready, Mehendi, Go". Then in the evening, we had sundowner Sangeet, where the dress code was ethnic chic and the slogan/theme was "Chalo Nacho".

Day 3 - Nikkah. Now the nikkah was an intimate day affair. "If you think I'm cute, wait until you see my Maasi" was the signboard that my nephew walked in with before my bridal entry. "Today I marry my best friend" was another sign that was at the venue, and many more spread throughout. The dress code was Pastel Design Couture and the slogan was "With our whole hearts, for our whole lives." The wedding was followed by a Reception with the dress code being Black Tie and the slogan was "To love, laughter and happily ever after".
