Palace weddings have a charm of their own, and this one's USP is the splashes of rich, jewel tones in each of the photos ! Shot by Katia Peshakova (yup, she isn't Indian but seems to know Indian wedding traditions much better than even us !) in that mysterious city of Pushkar , this is a traditional marwari affair that has has us lusting over the ombre tones in the brides sangeet lehenga !

The wedding
Hi Shreeya, tell us about your wedding ! We planned the events of the wedding ourselves without a planner, and even though it was a destination wedding, we were able to figure out most of the details with our family and us. Our venue was Hotel Bhanwar Singh Palace, Pushkar (Rajasthan), we just fell for the heritage and royal feel with the small hills in the backdrop. We also liked the pictures of the place and were really excited to use that setting as a backdrop for our big day . It took a few weekend trips to Pushkar to get everything sorted I wore lehengas for most of my events, and stuck to a friend Sonali Gupta who designed the Sangeet lehenga, and I found my wedding lehenga in Vasansi Jaipur. Apart from the clothes we had a tough time in finding a photographer whom we liked and who was available and was within our budget. The entire process of finding a good photographer took around 20 odd days. We did search on google, asked our friends and then started searching on facebook too. We came across Katia’s website/portfolioand when looked at some of the pictures and liked her work very much. With certain apprehension (thinking she might not be interested in shooting a wedding) we started speaking to her. She turned out to be very interested. And believe us while talking to her we realized she knew our customs and ritual/processes really well. In fact at a couple of times she suggested something basis the rituals which were to be done and both of were unaware till then. Overall, this wedding was an entire blast for the family- right from traditional rituals that our families enjoyed to fun moments with friends!
